What is the best place to celebrate Canada Day? Of course, in its capital city - Ottawa! Despite large crowds, long lines, and overcast clouds with occasional rain, the celebration of Canada's 150th anniversary was fantastic and indeed very patriotic. Just look at how many people were wearing white and red - thousands!
Today, I won't bother you with long reads, just pictures, pictures, pictures. They are more eloquent than thousands of words and more effective in conveying my experience on Canada Day this year.
Street artists.
Inspiration Village, which is made of containers, didn't look very inspirational, but it all changes once you're inside.
What? You forgot to bring me a double-double???
Beautiful Rideau Canal becomes the world's largest ice rink in the winter.
Even buses are red and white in Ottawa. By the way, kudos to municipal services that organized bus transportation in the entire city. It was fast, free and the only smart option to get downtown. I suspect they used all the buses and bus drivers available to make sure people could get around Ottawa on its busiest day in history.
Captain Canada.
Big family - big picture.
Parliament Hill looks beautiful from Alexandra Bridge.
Every Canadian should come to Ottawa on Canada Day at least once to experience a boost of patriotism and pride for their country. Happy Canada Day!
